As a parent raising my son bilingually, I learned that there are many wonderful books and other content available for kids, but it takes quite a bit of work to find it. Every family is unique in their language learning journey. Kids are different and changing all the time. Parents have different levels of comfort in German, and different resources to lean on. Great media is a very effective motivator for kids, and, if you aren’t a confident German speaker, media can also do the heavy lifting for kids to get lots of vocabulary and language input. There is plenty of content out there, so you can find content that really grabs your child’s attention and supports them in the ways they need right now. I have tried to take the guesswork out of identifying great content for kids of all ages by showcasing the best resources I know of.
